Chaos Theory

I cannot grieve this blink of absence
though simple mind aches
having faded the minuscule mountain
I now stand in shadow of

For an ageless time I waited
bundled and bound within myself
tangled by all matter of things;
a seeded womb in abeyance

sheathed by hopeless breath
cold potential slept;
still-eyed dormant dreaming
clouded skies

Casual or causal – who knows
yet you came and I am woke
violently existing as dark
spoke to dark and birthed light
into being, raw and volatile

chaos hurtling through the void
swarming particles collide
drawn in by your dark matter
until I balanced my mass
‘twixt stars and atoms

and this is how you loved me
existing in ouroborus tail
nascence and wreckage,

twinned.

  1. This is so fucking wonderful. And the fact that you used ouroboros as well struck me. This stanza though…just wow!

    1. You helped inspired this piece, I was looking up how to correctly pronounce ouroborus and there was a video of a guy talking about the big bang and chaos theory. It just reminded me of what it feels like when you fall in love, that whole cataclysmic earth shattering thing where you feel alive like you’ve never drawn breath before.
      It was so amazing! He explained that matter is basically exploded then pulled back to form atoms then molecules etc and the our physical body is literally like in the balance between stars and atoms. He had a picture of the ouroborus signifying our relationship to the universe – so very cool!
      So there you have it 😁

      1. Oh wow! First, being an inspiration for most anything is an amazing feeling. But to be one for something so powerful, and beautiful, and complex as Chaos Theory, well that is on a whole other level.

        Understanding where you drew from to write it only makes it that much more powerful. I know we can all relate to that feeling of being in a balance between stars and atoms.

    1. Thank you so much Chris.
      I think we are influencers/influenced. We may not be able to choose the when and where but we can certainly ride the wild winds as though we breathed them ourselves.
